Post-Doctoral Psychology Fellow
In life, people look for answers and I believe the answers lie within each of us. I strive to help individuals make their thoughts and goals clearer so that individuals can find answers during times of heavy clouds and dark skies. Through processing, learning effective tools, and techniques to manage high stress and anxiety, I work with my clients to get them to a more comprehensive sense of self. That self they have always dreamed of being and that self they, unconsciously, already are. In doing so, processing the past and the present to develop how my clients want their future to look will be a journey of healing and finding balance.
Through online therapy, I work from an integrative approach primarily utilizing Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic interventions with Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral theories. I am extensively trained in Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic and Dialectical Behavioral therapies. I strive to help individuals identify patterns in current relationships and behaviors that stem from past experiences, both from past attachment, as well as environmentally learned. I take a collaborative approach through processing, learning effective tools, and applying techniques to manage high stress and anxiety. I have experience working with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, mood difficulties, trauma-related concerns, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, phase of life adjustments, personality disorders, identity and LGBTQIA+ related concerns.
I earned my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler University in Chicago, IL and my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Chicago, IL. I have worked in private practices, intensive outpatient programs and college counseling settings as I enjoy working with young adults, middle-aged adults, individually, couples and in group therapy.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is paramount in fostering change. It is through an open, nonjudgmental, and safe environment that clients can explore and grow into their most authentic selves and lead more fulfilling lives. My approach emphasizes how our past and present experiences shape how we relate to others and the world around us. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, and utilize an integrative and collaborative approach that incorporates aspects of Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Feminist, Relational, and Strengths-Based approaches.
I am an LGBTQ+ affirming and sex positive therapist who welcomes clients who are part of the kink and poly/consensual non-monogamy communities. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
I have extensive experience in various settings, including substance abuse facilities, community mental health centers, and therapeutic day schools. I work with a range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, developmental disorders, impulse control, and relationship challenges. I am now also offering online therapy to better support my clients.

Joey Ye, LPC
Psychotherapist
I believe every person carries an innate capacity for growth and self-understanding, even when life experiences, relationships, and societal pressures have left them feeling isolated, ashamed, or inadequate. My work is grounded in psychodynamic principles, with a focus on helping clients know themselves more deeply, uncover the roots of their struggles, and move toward lasting change. I aim to create a space where you can slow down, step away from the noise, and truly listen to yourself.
My goal is to offer a collaborative environment where you can gain insight, develop new ways of relating to yourself and others, and live more authentically. In our sessions, we may explore the stories you tell yourself, the relationships that have shaped you, and the coping strategies you’ve adopted — even those that no longer serve you. This is not about quick fixes, but about fostering the safety and space for insight, healing, and meaningful change to take root. I believe therapy works best as a shared journey where your voice, pace, and readiness guide the process.
I have experience working with clients navigating depression, anxiety, anger management challenges, and complex trauma histories, as well as individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, and sexual orientation backgrounds. I value meeting each person where they are, approaching our work together with curiosity, respect, and compassion as we explore your history, relationships, and present concerns.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I offer therapy for individuals and couples in English and Mandarin.

I believe every person carries a unique capacity for growth and healing. Progress isn’t always linear, and it never looks exactly the same for two people. My goal is to be a steady, compassionate partner in your process—offering a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to move toward the life you want.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating concerns such as anxiety, identity exploration, and depression. My approach is collaborative and tailored to you. I draw from person-centered and strengths-based therapy, integrate cognitive behavioral strategies, and—when helpful for younger clients—use play therapy to support expression and skill-building. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that fits your goals and keeps us focused on what’s working.
I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Iowa. My clinical experience spans work with kids, teens, and adults in a variety of settings, and I value bringing curiosity, cultural humility, and practical tools to each session.
I offer therapy in person (both Evanston and Ravenswood) and online for clients across Illinois.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and finding the right fit matters. As a counseling intern and student in training, I bring fresh perspective, curiosity, and up-to-date learning—along with close supervision from experienced clinicians—to support you with care that is collaborative, ethical, and centered on your goals.
My approach is integrative and tailored to you. I draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care. Together, we’ll identify what’s getting in the way, build practical skills, and create a plan that reflects your values and strengths.

Guided by cultural humility and inclusivity, I’m especially committed to creating a space where people who haven’t always felt fully seen in mental health settings can feel safe, respected, and heard.
